The (6) Step Blueprint to a Business Breakthrough

As someone who interviews successful entrepreneurs on my podcast Success Hackers; as well as coaching business owners around how to achieve ultimate success in my coaching practice, I’m around high achievers all day long. High achievers possess a blueprint they’re constantly using when evaluating their progress. We all want to achieve incredible things in 2017. We want to have a bigger impact, create more growth and reach new business heights. Creating this isn’t going to happen by accident, it’s going to happen because you make it happen. In order to do that, you have to show up like never before for your goals and dreams. So how are you going to do that throughout the year? Below is the 6 step blueprint to creating a breakthrough in your business. 1) Get clarity: What does success look like for you? Believe it or not, if you ask most business owners what success looks like for them, most of the time they won’t know. They’ve been working for such a long time in their business, they’ve forgotten to start working ON their business. Is your success based on a revenue number, or is it based on the type of lifestyle that you want to create?   If it’s a revenue number, be specific about the number. If it’s a certain lifestyle you’d like, what does that lifestyle look like.   Clarity is power. My advice is always the same: you should be able to explain your goals to a 10 year old. If your goals are too jumbled, then you’re not clear enough.   You need to be clear on what it is that...

Quit Following the Networking Herd

Do you “network” for business? Do you “network” for the social reasons? Do you “network” because it “gets you out of the house/office?” There is no wrong/right answer to the question. However, as someone that helps business owners become more productive, I have my own answer to the question. I was recently at a few networking events this week, and noticed someone who’s been going to that specific networking group for 2 years. I asked him how he likes the group. His answer: “The people are great. I enjoy the coffee they serve . It gets me out of the office.” Hmmmm I proceeded to ask him, “that’s great..” But have you gotten any business from this group considering you’ve been going EVERY week for 2 years. His answer astonished me. “Ive gotten ONE piece of business from this group.” WHAT!!?? I then asked him why he continues to go if he’s only gotten one piece of business. He replied, “Well, again, I like the people, and feel very comfortable around them.” Listen, if you’re a business owner, I know most of you reading this, incorporates networking in order to build relationships, make new friends, and hopefully, get new business. But, at what time, do you look at your calendar, then look at your the 500 business cards in your drawer, and say to yourself, “maybe there’s something I’m not doing right when it comes to networking”.. There’s ONE word that separates those who do networking right, and the rest of the folks who are in the middle of the herd. INTENTION I think we can all agree that...

Before I continue working on putting up the Xmas lights on our tree, and doing some shopping with my wife, I wanted to bring you something pretty special… With less than half the month of December approaching, and everyone getting ready for the holidays, I wanted to share something with you that made me smile. As  a business strategist. I help business owners/Entrepreneurs grow their businesses so, not only are they making more money, but they’re also able to focus on living a life filled w/purpose and passion… For the past few years, my business has grown, and I’ve been able to impact and empower my business owner clients to truly play bigger in their business and life …..needless to say, I LOVE what I do But, as you know, when you’re building a business, sometimes you get so focused on the tasks at hand, you forget to come up for air, and appreciate even the little things that life has to offer. As hard charging Entrepreneurs, we are always looking ahead….trying to make more money, impact more people, and climb the next mountain. I received a message this morning from one of my existing clients (Bob) ….and I had to share with you.   You can see why this put such a huge smile on my face 🙂 It reassured me that, when you do something you’re so passionate about, and you put your focus on helping others, great things will happen.EVERYONE likes to get gifts, or get a nice email like this. So here’s my challenge to you.. Reach out to someone today (business or personal) and simply tell that person “Thanks for...

Change Your Habits & Grow Your Business

Recently, in a previous post, I discussed how business owners get locked into specific patterns of behavior that produce specific results. Unfortunately, these aren’t the results the business owner was looking for… since those results tend to be a lack of revenue and profits for their business. The main problem is the unproductive behavioral patterns the business owner uses daily. They have become ingrained into their subconscious mind as habit patterns. These habits must be changed, and they must be changed on a subconscious level so the business owner replaces the old unproductive habits with new productive ones. But is this really possible? Here’s how the sequence works, like it or not. Your thoughts produce specific beliefs. Those beliefs produce specific actions, and those actions produce specific results. If you aren’t getting the results you want, then you MUST change your thoughts and beliefs so that you begin to take different actions… and taking those actions over a period of time create habits. What you need to know… Perhaps the following story will put everything into perspective… Think about a newborn elephant at the zoo or the circus. The first thing the keepers do is drive a huge steel stake deep into the ground and attach a heavy rope to it. The other end of the rope is tied around the back foot of the baby elephant. The baby struggles and strains pulling against the rope trying to break free. After many attempts, it learns through repetition that the effort is futile, and it finally gives up. It now “believes” it can never break free, and the end result is...
